As important as it is to refuel after your workout, you do not want to spoil all the work you just did.

“When exercise-induced hunger sets in, only increase your calorie intake up to 20 to 30 percent of what your calorie tracker says you burned,” says Lisa Jubilee, MS, CDN.

Sweat More

Working up a sweat means you are enjoying a highly-effective workout!

“Lifting heavy weights is the best way to increase your metabolism, sustain long-term muscle growth and stay lean. If you’re doing more than ten reps with ease, your weight probably isn’t heavy enough, so vary your reps and consistently increase the amount you’re lifting,” says Dustin Hassard, NCSF.

This is also true of cardio, so increase the resistance or your workout length.

Remember To Change Your Workout

Changing your workout and challenging yourself is another fitness key, as doing the same thing every day causes the body to plateau. Try kickboxing if you love biking, or yoga if HIIT has been your go-to.
